The letters are analyzed in terms of their coherence, audience, and inferences, extracted from the cultural scenarios and scripts, demonstrating features of Yombo’s evolving worldview. The study contributes to our knowledge of how a newly literate man incorporates oral styles and features from his language (West Kewa) and culture into letters to reflect various aspects of his life story.
